A superb plot that would be a premier cru if it did not face north-east. It ripens a little later. This is a very good village wine. It is very fine, long on the palate and may be aged for a decade or more.
The name "Chambolle" was inspired by the bubbling appearance of a stream called the "Grône" following rainstorms. Original name: "Campus Ebullien" = bubbling field
