Gilbert Chon & Fils have been growers in the Muscadet for three centuries, having moved to the region from Burgundy in 1709 after frosts destroyed a large part of their vineyards there. They own a number of domaines (Château de la Jousselinière being the biggest with 27 hectares) and they all have Terra Vitis certification for integrated production, which, amongst other things, includes the use of natural processes to control pests and promotes the minimal use of chemical treatments.
A single-vineyard wine of unusual authority and texture, but unmistakable origin, from schist-grown vines over 60 years old. A Muscadet for those who appreciate fruit as well as the authentic saline minerality of the genre.
