This mead is made from avocado honey derived from the avocado tree; there are no actual avocado fruit or flowers in the mead. Avocado honey is the byproduct of the honeybees' process of pollinating the avo trees so they will bear fruit, a natural phenomenon that is essential to putting guacamole on the table!
Our California Avocado Blossom mead is light, very dry and refreshing, with mild nutty flavors, and a hop-like bite at the finish that suggests a Pilsner-style beer. The batch we are selling now is one of the last two varietals fermented in our old facility in Humboldt County.
