"The 2011 Papa’s All-Blacks Old Vine is a field blend of assorted red grapes that pays tribute to the growers who planted some of California’s most historic vineyard sites back in the late 1800s. Sweet floral notes meld into dark red fruit, asphalt, sweet spices and licorice as the 2011 opens up in the glass. Juicy and seductive, the 2011 is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2021. Ravenswood founder Joel Peterson owns Kismet with his wife Madeleine Deininger. Peterson and his son Morgan blend the Papa’s All-Blacks from wines Morgan vinifies at his Bedrock facility."
"Inky purple. Powerful, smoke-accented aromas of dark berry liqueur and licorice, with a spicy topnote. Broad and fleshy, with good lift to its bitter cherry and cassis flavors. Dusty tannins give grip to the finish, which strongly echoes the cassis note. This is a new project undertaken by Morgan Twain-Peterson of Bedrock and his father, Sonoma winemaking legend and founder of Ravenswood, Joel Peterson."
