2010 Pedres Vermentino di Gallura Thilibas
The winemaking tradition of the Mancini family dates back to the end of the 1800s, in the beautiful Mediterranean setting of Gallura in Sardinia, known for its unique terrain and picturesque coastline. Out of the hard work and perseverance of the youngest descendant, Giovanni Mancini, came the Cantina Pedres, located in Gallura, one of the most valuable wine zones in Italy. Here, the natural factors of the terrain and mild climate provide an optimum environment for vine cultivation. They are dedicated to taking care of every detail, from grape growing to packaging to hospitality, resulting in a line of high-quality wines produced from specially selected, exclusively Gallurese grapes.

The flagship of the estate is the D.O.C.G. Vermentino di Gallura, made from several prime vineyard sites. The Thilibas (superiore) comes from lower yielding vines and is harvested a bit later, producing a wine of greater complexity. Both wines are aged in stainless steel and glass, with no oak to mask their unique charm. Pedres Thilibas is characterized by a brilliant color of straw yellow with gold reflections and a complex bouquet of hawthorn and Mediteranean undergrowth. It is a dry, full-bodied wine with good acidity and Vermentino's characteristic almond aftertaste. Ideal with seafood, grilled or stewed fish, or as an aperitivo. Villa Italia Importer
