Since 1797, on the prestigious terroirs of Vosne-Romanée and Vougeot, our vineyards have offered the Estate their precious fruit. From these terroirs , we produce fourteen different wines, including la Grande Rue, a monopole of the Estate, one of the rare grands crus of Vosne-Romanée.
The Lamarche Estate, which now boasts a total surface area of nearly 28 acres, is a family firm, whose origin goes back several generations. We have adopted integrated viticulture for all our vineyards, and we try to express both our terroir and our history in our wines. They all have in common that elegance which combines exceptional balance and a delicate nose.
"Burgundy has produced nothing better than this little corner where all her charms come together." So wrote Gaston Roupnel Burgundian author, celebrated historian of the French countryside. This "central pearl in Burgundy's necklace" harbours fabled Grand Crus: ROMANÉE-CONTI, ROMANÉE SAINT-VIVANT, LA ROMANÉE, LA TÂCHE, LA GRANDE RUE, RICHEBOURG, and, in the neighbouring commune of Flagey-Echezeaux, ÉCHEZEAUX and GRANDS ÉCHEZEAUX. Close to this paradise, the communal appellation VOSNE-ROMANÉE and its Premiers Crus express the Pinot Noir grape at its heavenly best.
Here the wood is more discreet if not invisible with an expressive nose that is very Vosne in basic character as it's quite generously spiced. The ripe and fresh nose introduces suave, rich and mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that possess good dry extract levels on the seductive, persistent and energetic finish. Issue 41
