Philippe Colin created this Domaine in 2004 after having worked at his family's Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger for 16 years. The Domaine is comprised of approximately 25 Acres in the areas surrounding the town of Chassagne-Montrachet. Philippe produces 28 different appellations of both red and white - which allows him to showcase the diversity of the Burgundian terroirs. Philippe's work is fundamentally based on his absolute respect for his vineyards and grapes. The wines are aged for 12 to 18 months in oak barrels depending on the terroir and the rhythm of each wine.
There's incredible depth and extract to this compelling white. Aromas and flavors of hazelnut, citrus blossom, peach, honey and toast match the smooth, lush texture. The richness and substance of the wine covers the acidity now, giving an overall impression of concentration without weight. The brilliant aftertaste delivers citrus, pastry and mineral notes. Best from 2013 through 2030. 50 cases imported. Aug 31, 2011
A deft touch of wood sets off a wonderfully refined, elegant and remarkably complex nose of honeysuckle, peach, pear and wet stone notes that is also ever-so-vaguely exotic in character and merges into pure, focused, concentrated and silky flavors that are reserved yet terminate in a hugely long finish of simply stunning intensity. This is also very classy and stylish juice. Issue 41
