2007 Poderi Foglia Concarosso Aglianico Campania
In the northern tip of Italy's Campania is the Galluccio DOC, which was first planted by the Romans. The owners of Poderi Foglia are the Barletta family, who also own Vestini Campagnano. At Vestini Campagnano, they have been resurrecting the nearly extinct Pallagrello Nero grape. In Poderi Foglia Concarosso Aglianico, they blend 30% Pallagrello with 70% Aglianico to a produce a rich Italian "country red" that is the perfect accompaniment to pizza, lasagna or other classic southern Italian fare.
