The first bottle of Maker's Mark was bottled in 1958 and featured the brand's distinctive dipped red wax seal which has become an iconic distinction on the square bottles. Maker's Mark is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky which is handmade in small batches, never exceeding 19 barrels. Maker's Mark uses the old-style sour mash method in which they start each new batch fermentation by using a little of the last. Maker's Mark is smooth and full-flavored and appreciated alone but also well known for mixing distinctive Manhattan's. Every back bar and home bar should have a bottle. 90 Proof.

Maker's Mark Manhattan Recipe

1 1/2 parts Maker's Mark

1/2 parts sweet vermouth

1 teaspoon of maraschino cherry juice

Maraschino cherry

Fill cocktail shaker with ice; add Maker's Mark, sweet vermouth, and maraschino cherry juice. Shake and strain into chilled Manhattan or Martini glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
