The producers of Hendrick's Gin employ a somewhat unusual distillation process for their premium Gin, using a so-called Carter-Head still built in the 19th century. Instead of crudely boiling its ingredients, the Carter-Head still "bathes" them in the distillate vapor, which is consequently a much slower distillation process. This more leisurely distillation process produces smoother and richer flavors. The Hendrick's Gin 88 Proof is also unusual in that it includes cucumber and Bulgarian Rose in the botanical infusion, which gives the gin a unique and refreshing flavor not found in other gins that use the more traditional botanicals.
