Chinaco is only distillery authorized to produce tequila in Tamaulipas, which is in the state of Jalisco Mexico. The Chinaco agaves are organic as the plantations in Tamaulipas do not require fertilizers or herbicides. The peaks of the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range in Tamaulipas reach over 11,150 feet above sea level and agaves are grown from approximately 500 to 5,000 feet from the upper valleys and onto the sides of the mountains. This results in a phenolic ripeness that imparts texture, complexity, notes of sweet ripe tropical fruits, spiciness and an herbal quality while maintaining good acidity. The soils of Tamaulipas are loam, sand and clay, which may attribute to the pronounced minerality in Chinaco Tequila.

Chinaco Tequilas are made of 100% Agave and Chincao Añejo is aged for 30 months in selected oak barrels from France, England and America. Chinaco Añejo is smooth, rich and complex and is best enjoyed as a sipping tequila, much like a fine cognac.
