90-92 points Burghound:A beguiling nose features black berry and red currant liqueur that merges into rich, generous and opulent flavors that possess a touch of finishing asperity that presently offsets the mid-palate sweetness. There is excellent concentration and a high level of phenolic maturity to the structural elements and that should also amply reward mid-term cellaring. Comments: Outstanding  Drink: 2016+

95 points Burghound:A red berry liqueur nose complements beautifully the excellent quality and fine material of the generous, rich, sweet and full-bodied flavors that possess excellent detail despite the robust character of the mid-palate, all wrapped in a strikingly complex, dusty, mouth coating and amazingly long finish. This is a seriously impressive effort and a legitimate candidate for the Charmes of the vintage; note however that patience will be required. Note that in contrast to the Lavaut, this is actually less powerful but more elegant, which is the exact opposite of this duo in 2007. Drink: 2018+

92-95 points Burghound:This is the freshest and most expressive wine to this point with its densely fruited and highly complex nose of plum, cassis, spice and dried violets that is followed by intensely mineral-driven middle weight flavors that are elegantly delineated, all wrapped in a palate staining and driving finish that is underpinned by ripe tannins and simply incredible persistence. Comments: Outstanding Drink: 2024+

97 points Burghound:The intensely floral nose is classic Mazis with the hallmark animale component already in full song on the very ripe yet fresh red berry fruit and deeply earthy aromas. The concentrated and large-scaled flavors are rich to the point of opulence as the level of dry extract is almost hard to believe yet the forcefully long finish is precise, focused, impeccably well-balanced and the length is simply amazing. In a word, dazzling. Drink: 2024+

It’s impossible to discuss Chassagne-Montrachet without mentioning the name Bernard Moreau. Year to year, this celebrated producer vinfies and bottles some of the purest, most thought-provoking wines of the appellation. 93-95 points Burghound:A fresh, ripe, elegant and quite floral nose also evidences hints of green apple, pear and mildly exotic yellow fruit aromas that are trimmed in discreet wood toast. The rich, full-bodied and mouth coating broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent concentration and power and finally culminate in an explosive and fantastically long if somewhat chewy finish. This is perhaps a bit less elegant than it usually is but I suspect that as the underlying material, which is exceptionally dense, resolves that it will become more refined with age. Impressive. 91-94 points Burghound-Moderate wood sets off very ripe aromas of black cherry, plum and wet stone that also characterizes the extremely rich yet beautifully detailed flavors that possess superb intensity as well as fine complexity on the tension-filled and wonderfully persistent finish.
